Purple Star Awards on stage

Carteret County Public Schools (CCPS) has once again been recognized for its outstanding commitment to military-connected students and families. This year, every CCPS school received the prestigious Purple Star Award, an honor announced during a special ceremony held at the North Carolina National Guard Joint Force Headquarters.

Colonel Brendan C. Burks, Commander of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, joined the event in support of the students whose families serve at the base, highlighting the strong partnership between the military community and Carteret County schools.

For the fifth consecutive year, CCPS has also been recognized as a Purple Star District. With this continued record of excellence, the district is now eligible for the Purple Star Legacy Distinction in the upcoming year.
